Deutscher Spiele Preis

Votes from 1499 ballots were split between 255 games of which 131 were eligible.
The votes were weighted 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 with the high number given to 1st place.
 
Ballots were issued through Die Pöppel-Revue and Fairplay and through game clubs, retailers and game critics throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland - and for the first time was is also possible to vote via the Internet.

Given for their work since the foundation 10 years ago - especially their fight for the rights of the mostly anonymous group of designers, which have meant the term Autoren-Spiele (Designer games) has become a household fenomenon in Germany.
