Deutscher Spiele Preis

The German Game Award is the GAMER's own award. You can vote for it by filling out the form at www.deutscherspielepreis.de before 31. July (Explanation).

It began as "The Golden Pawn" (Goldene Pöppel) in 1979, when Knut-Michael Wolf created a readers poll in his fanzine Die Pöppel-Revue, and it continued under its current title when magazine was bought by the publisher Merz Verlag in 1990.

The award is given at a gala evening in connection with the Internationale Spieletage in Essen at the end of October.
