| A talk with Alex
Randolph |
| |
In 1988 did Knut-Michael Wolf visit Alex
Randolph in his studio in Venice on behalf of the Friedhelm Merz Verlag.
In a long talk over several hours did the grand old man reveal his
thoughts aubt games in general and his own in particular. The interview
was published in a special issue of the Pöppel-Revue
published in connection with Spiel '88. The cover
illustration featured a very artistic picture of Randolphs most famous
game Twixt. (provided by the 1989 calender
Rheinmetall) With kind permission from Knut-Michael Wolf and the Friedhelm Merz Verlag have I translated the interview
with Alex Randolph. Please note that I have done
my best to be faithful to the great master, but alas am I not a master of
neither German nor English. I have done my best...
