Many Action cards has the text divided into two sections, Conditions which must be fullfilled for the Result to take place. I use the following abbreviations: "Bedingung" = C: for Conditions, "Ergebnis" = R: for Result. The Special and Instant cards has different actions depending on the type of round they are played in: AR: = Action Rounds, ER: = Event Round.

Amalie
C: The player must have at least one City in BAYERN.
R: 4 new Citizens settle in any of your regions, and you may draw an additional Action card from the deck. But you must spend 5 Gold on the wedding.

Anna
C: The player must have at least one Estate in a region bordering TIROL.
R: You receive 10 Gold as marriage portion and your Prestige increases by 1. In addition you may draw an additional Action card from the deck.

Astrid
C: The player must have at least one Estate in any region bordering RHEINLAND-PFALZ.
R: One of your Estates in that region attains a City Charter.

Barbara
C: The player must have at least one City in any region bordering BAYERN.
R: You receive an Estate in that region and the corresponding Principality card as a marriage portion; but you also lose one of your Citizens due to emigration.

Christina
C: This card can only be played in 1298.
R: One of your Estates in UNTERITALIEN attain a City Charter; your marriage portion also includes the UNTERITALIEN Principality card plus 5 Gold.

Dagmar
C: The player must have at least one Estate in any region bordering SCHWABEN.
R: You receive the Principality card corresponding to that region.

Eleonore
C: The player must have the Principality card to one of the regions bordering SAVOYEN.
R: You receive an Estate in SAVOYEN. You may also draw an additional Action card from the deck, and furthermore may you do one additional action during all Action Rounds until the next Evaluation Round.

Elisabeth
C: The player must have been King (or still be King).
R: You receive the ÖSTERREICH Principality card, and you may immediately perform 2 additional actions.

Franziska
C: The player cannot have any Estates in BAYERN.
R: You may draw 3 additional Action cards from the deck.

Friederike
C: The player must hold at least one Principality card.
R: You receive an Estate marker in OBERSACHSEN and immediately attain a City Charter for it. But you must pay 10 Gold in charges.

Gertrud
C: The player cannot have the most Estate markers on the board.
R: You receive 30 Gold as a marriage portion, but your Prestige is lowered by 1.

Isabella
C: This card can only be played in 1273.
R: 2 new Citizens settle in any of your regions and your Prestige increases by 1. Furthermore may you immediately perform one additional Action.

Isolde
C: This card can only be played from the 2nd Interregnum to the end of 1314.
R: You receive an Estate in BÖHMEN and may immediately perform one additional action.

Johanna
C: The player must have at least one Estate in TIROL.
R: You receive 15 Gold as a marriage portion and your Prestige increases by 2, but you lose one of your Citizens due to emmigration.

Josephine
C: The player must have at least one City in EIDGENOSSEN.
R: You receive the EIDGENOSSEN Principality card, and may settle 2 new Citizens in any of your regions.

Jutta
C: This card can only be played from 1314 to the end of 1400.
R: You receive 15 Gold as a marriage portion and your Prestige increases by 1. You also receive an Estate in any of the regions bordering WESTFALEN, but you lose 2 of your Citizens due to emmigration.

Hildegard
C: This card can only be played in 1346.
R: You receive 5 Gold as a marriage portion and your Prestige increases by 1. You may also draw 2 additional Action cards from the deck, and you may perform one additional action during all Action Rounds until the next Evaluation Round.

Karoline
C: The player must have been King (or still be King).
R: Your Prestige increases by 2.

Katharina
C: This card can only be played from 1298 to the end of 1438.
R: You may perform one additional action during all Action Rounds until the next Evaluation Round.

Konstanze
C: This card can only be played from 1378 to the end of 1438.
R: You receive 5 Gold as a marriage portion and your Prestige increases by 1. In addition you may settle 2 new Citizens in any of your regions.

Kunigunde
C: The player cannot have the highest Prestige level.
R: Your Prestige increases by 3, but you must pay 10 Gold in expenses for the wedding.

Liselotte
C: The player cannot have the fewest Estate markers on the board.
R: You receive 20 Gold as a marriage portion.

Margarethe
C: This card can only be played from the 1st Interregnum to the end of 1346.
R: You receive a marriage portion of one Estate in ÖSTERREICH.

Maria
C: The player cannot have any Estates in OBER- or NIEDERSACHSEN.
R: You may draw 2 additional Action cards from the deck. Furthermore may you perform one additional action during all Action Rounds until the next Evaluation Round.

Marianne
C: This card can only be played from 1298 to the end of 1346.
R: You receive an Estate in any region bordering OBERITALIEN, and you may draw 2 additional Action cards from the deck.

Mathilde
C: The player must have at least one City in any region bordering OBERITALIEN.
R: 4 new Citizens settle in any of your regions, but you also lose 1 Prestige point because of the wedding.

Sieglinde
C: This card can only be played from the 1st Interregnum to the end of 1273.
R: You receive an Estate in EIDGENOSSEN plus 5 Gold as marriage portion.

Sophie
C: The player cannot have the lowest Prestige level.
R: 2 new Citizens settle in any of your regions.

Therese
C: This card can only be played in 1314.
R: One of your Estates in EIDGENOSSEN attains a City Charter. You also receive the EIDGENOSSEN Principality card.

Ursula
C: The player cannot have any Estates in any of the regions bordering WESTFALEN
R: One of your Estates in WESTFALEN attains a City Charter, and 2 new Citizens settle in any of your regions. In addition your Prestige increases by 1, but you must spend 5 Gold on the wedding.

Diplomatie & Strategie  =  Diplomacy & Strategy
AR: One City of your choice is deprived of its City Charter - remove the City disc! (If more than 3 Citizens have settled around that City, may that player re-locate them among his other Estates.
ER: You may draw 2 additional Action cards from the deck, while all your fellow players must discard 1 card (of their own choice) each.

Gute Ernte  =  Rich Crop   (2x)
AR: One of your Cities has a market day which yields you "1 die + 5" Gold as well as +1 Prestige!
ER: You may designate a region on the board. All players receive double income from that region plus all its bordering regions this turn!

Hungersnot  =  Famine   (2x)
AR: You may reduce one Estate of your choice to "1"!
ER: All reduced Estate markers on the board keep their Reduction tokens in the next Action Rounds (they are not removed during the "Receive Income"-phase this round.)

Kirchenbann  =  Excommunication
AR: A player of your choice must discard 2 Action cards and that player may be attacked by anyone without any loss of Prestige until the next Event Round!
ER: Basic game - A player of your choice must discard his entire hand and draw the same number of new cards. Expert game - A player of your choice cannot participate in the "Trade & Agreements"-phase this round! (2-player game: You may trade face-up cards twice in a row).

Sondersteuer  =  Special Tax  (2x)
AR: You may collect taxes from all your (unreduced) Estates. Roll 1 die for each Estate marker: "1" = Reduce the marker to "1". "2-3" = Reduce the marker to "1" and receive 3 Gold. "4-6" = Receive 3 Gold.
ER: You receive 1 Gold extra per Estate marker (even reduced markers) during the "Receive Income"-phase this round.

Stadtluft macht frei!  =  "City Air Emancipates!" (in contrast to the air the serfs breathe)   (2x)
AR: For each Estate you reduce to "1" may you settle a new Citizen in a City, in the same or a bordering Region, (without cost).
ER: In the next Action Rounds may all players do the "Attain a City Charter" action be without the proper City card at a cost of 12 Gold (instead of 6).

Wiederaufbau  =  Rebuilding   (2x)
AR: You may "upgrade" any one of your Estate markers to full value (by removing the Reduction token).
ER: All Estates on the board yield a normal income of 3 Gold in spite of any Reduction tokens (these are removed as normal).

Vülkerwanderung  =  Migration
AR: You may re-locate all your Citizens. No Citizen may pass more than a single Regional border.
ER: In the next Action Rounds all conquered Cities will be destroyed (instead of being seized).

Volksheld  =  Folk Hero   (2x)
AR: You may found a City in any region of your choice by paying 6 Gold. This card can be used as a City card of your choice.
ER: One player of your choice is not taken into consideration when Prestige points are awarded this round - everybody else receive points as normal. (2-player game: There is no scoring!)

Gegenkönig  =  Anti-King
AR: The player with the most Estate markers on the board is proclaimed "Anti-King" - he receives the same privileges as the King, except he only gets half of the remaining Soldiers (a single leftover pawn is discarded)!
ER: As above; the King and the Anti-King receive 6 Soldiers each.

Höfische Intrigen  =  Court Intrigues   (2x)
Intrigues at the court makes progress more difficult. Until the next Evaluation Round the likelyhood of new Action Rounds is slightly worsened: Roll 3x or 4x dice before the 2nd or 3rd Action Round.

Interregnum  =  [Latin: a temporary vacancy of the throne]
AR + ER (after the "Coronation"-phase): The King is dead! The player lose all privileges and must return the Crown card and all Soldiers to the supply - he does not lose any Prestige points or cards though.
ER (before the "Coronation"-phase): There will no King elected this round!

Irren & Wirren  =  Confusion & Turmoil
AR: Go directly to the Evaluation Round after the present Action Round - do not roll any dice!
ER: Basic game - All players discard their hand and draw the same number of new cards from the deck. Expert rules - there will be no "Trade & Agreements"-phase in this round!

Pest  =  Pestilence
Roll 1 die for each region: "5 or 6" = The region is plague-ridden! Roll 1 die for all units (Citizens and 1-3 Peasants per Estate) in the infested areas: Units in Cities are removed on a "5 or 6"; outside Cities they are removed on a "6" (or reduced if Estate markers).

Sturm & Drang  =  "Storm & Stress" [a period of drama & passion]   (2x)
AR: All 3 Action Rounds are played this Epoch - without rolling dice!
ER: The players may perform 2 actions each during the comming Action Rounds!

Bürgerwehr  =  Militia   (2x)
Due to better weapons and training the Citizens are better armed in this battle - they hit on every die showing "4-6".

Entsatzheer  =  Relieving Force   (2x)
You may bring reinforcements into this battle - for each of your (unreduced) Estate markers in the same or a bordering region which you reduce to "1", you may throw an additional die until the end of the battle (It only hits on a die roll of "6").

Kindbett  =  Childbed   (3x)
One Lady of your choice, who is present in the game, dies in childbed - discard the Marriage card. (The concerned player might lose any Principality card obtained by the marriage - unless he has the majority).

Landwehr  =  Peasant Army   (2x)
Due to better weapons and training the Peasants are better armed in this battle - they hit on every die showing "5 or 6".

Verrat  =  Treason   (3x)
The City under attack is weakened by treachery - it loses its defence bonus of "1". (A "Fortified Town" with "Treason" would still be able to nullify hits on dice showing a "2").
